Become a Foot Soldiers Park Ambassador

Our Ambassador Program is an exclusive volunteer opportunity for Selma residents who are committed to building a bright future for Selma and ready to turn that passion into purpose. Through training, access to resources, network opportunities, and access to exclusive events, ambassadors become advocates for our Park & Education Center who promote awareness of our work, inspire community engagement, and work with our partners to help us achieve our goals.

What are an ambassador’s key activities?

  • FSP advocacy & outreach: Ambassadors actively engage with the community, sharing the story and mission of Foot Soldiers Park. This includes attending events, networking, and collaborating with local organizations to amplify our impact.
  • Promotion of educational programming: Ambassadors help us ensure that the broader community benefits from the educational initiatives and resources offered at the Park & Education Center, such as encouraging schools and community groups to participate in film screenings, workshops, cultural events, etc.
  • Social media promotion: Leveraging the power of social media, ambassadors share updates, stories, and events related to Foot Soldiers Park, expanding our reach and engagement with our local and online community.

How can I become an ambassador?

You’re the most important piece of the social change puzzle and if you don’t get up off your behind, as Miss Bland says, and do your thing, that puzzle isn’t complete.
